William Beard (b. 1803)

William Beard, the first son born to John and Elizabeth "Betsy" Beard, was born on September 5, 1803.

For his occupation, he operated a tannery at his 150 acre home in Mint Spring, Virginia.

He married Mary J. "Polly" Greiner (b. Sept. 21, 1806) on October 27, 1825. Her sister married William's brother, David. 1870 census records show Williams age 66 living with his son James W. Beard, but there is no mention of Mary beard leading us to believe that she had passed away by this time.
