John Beard (1807-1880)
John was born about a mile from Mint Spring, VA on July 24, 1807 to
John (b. 1766) and Barbara (Lovingood) Beard, and he died there in 1880.
I do not know where John and Harriet were buried, however, they buried
their 11 year old daughter, who died on Sep. 13, 1862, in the Wilson
Family cemetery near Mint Spring, VA. This cemetery is currently
cow pasture land and the tombstones have all fallen and most are half
buried in grass.
John Beard was a farmer near Mint Spring, VA. It is likely that
his produce consisted of fruits and nuts and maybe honey since that is
what his son, Samuel W. Beard raised.
